welcome

I am a textile artist living and working in East Sussex, UK. My art makes connections with community and land through handwork and repurposing vintage and discarded cloth.

About

The act of hand sewing feels embedded deeply in my soul and brings me peace and nourishment. My work is inspired by the seasons and traditional myths and stories, particularly those originating in this land. Through the calming and meditative action of stitching I honour and recall my ancestors.

My textile work is a process through which I overlay environmental grief with joy in the beauty of what remains and hope for the future. The picking up of fragments and reshaping them into something of beauty holds an important symbolism that I take with me in all aspects of life.
